What began as a nonprofit has become our philosophy.
Welcome to the home of all things alacritous.
With Alacrity* - Assistance Dogs of Colorado is the basis of our philosophy. We breed, raise & teach dogs special skills in order to be carefully matched with persons with disabilities. But that's where our similarities with other service dog programs end. Learn more...
Throw us a bone; we'll make soup. Yes, we are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Like any young nonprofit our budget is bare-bones. Every penny matters. Our dogs can pick up dropped change & cash and we often refer to that as fundraising. Our finances are no secret. Our Board of Directors, our Veterinarian and even our Attorney volunteer because they believe in our cause. Look at our budget. And check out our fundraising projects.
Ranch Alacrity is our home, 40 acres surrounded east to southwest by BLM land. Located just north of the Eagle Valley in Colorado, we are within a half hour of the world class Beaver Creek & Vail Resorts. We are accessible by air by the Vail/Eagle (EGE) airport and are less than two hours from Denver (DIA). Our log cabin was formerly a hunting camp built long before a year round accessible dirt road reached here. We are currently transforming the land to a full fledged ranch and farm as well as a dog facility on just under two designated acres. Our methods are earth friendly and green. Our livestock is unusual, really unusual.
